What We Do

With the fundamental interest of PV manufacturers at heart, BT Imaging is committed solely to the advancement of inspection technologies for the PV industry. We provide state-of-the-art metrology hardware and software for measuring the characteristics of solar products at various of stages. Our mission is to enable cost reduction and revenue growth for customers with our products in their manufacturing facilities.

Co-founders

Prof. Thorsten Trupke (left) and Dr. Robert Bardos (right) published the first academic paper of photoluminescence (PL) in 2006, introducing its applications in the photovoltaics (PV) area, and founded BT Imaging.

Applications

BT Imaging provides both in-line and offline inspection tools for research institutes worldwide and manufacturers of photovoltaic products.

Our customers use our products in various parts of their operations including 100% inspection of materials during production, continuous process improvement, quality control and product R&D in the laboratory.

Our customers are the manufacturers of silicon brick and ingots, silicon solar wafers, solar cells, and solar modules.

BT Imaging’s product range includes:

  • Stand-alone inspection tools for silicon bricks, slugs, wafers, cells, mini-modules and full-sized modules
  • Inline inspection tools for silicon wafers, cells and full-sized modules
  • Patented algorithms or customizable algorithm services
